My name is Jenny LaCorte Bailey. I’m a color consultant and wardrobe stylist and the founder of Your Vivid Style.
Looking back, it’s not too surprising that I found my way into this line of work. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved sewing, decorating, and “dressing up.” It’s always been part of my life.
After earning a BS in Marketing, I worked for a major telecommunications company. There, I learned the importance of appearing and behaving with professional etiquette. I also learned that clothes are a powerful form of non-verbal communication. What you wear sends a message to the world about who you are, and where you’re headed in life.
Then in 2012, I started volunteering at a nonprofit called Bloom (formerly called Image for Success). Bloom’s mission is to support women who have survived great hardship and adversity, and help them re-enter the workforce and create financial security.
As a volunteer, I spoke to hundreds of women about their career goals and helped them put together outfits for job interviews. It was incredible to witness the transformation that occurred. With the right clothes, shoes, and accessories, each woman stood a little taller, her eyes shined a little brighter, and her confidence grew.
That’s when I realized that changing your appearance can change your entire life, and I knew, “This is the work I want to do.”
Today, I offer color consulting and wardrobe styling for men and women, and I typically work with clients based in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you live elsewhere, I’m available for Skype/Facetime sessions, too. And if hiring me isn’t within your budget right now, I have a blog and newsletter with style tips that you can dive into anytime.
Thanks for visiting my site—and if you’re interested in working with me, reach out anytime!
I’ve got one tattoo in a semi-private location. It’s a heart—my favorite symbol. (Most people are surprised to learn that I’ve got ink on my body!)
I’m a mom and a wife, and I’ve been married for over 18 years. My husband has seen me go through numerous style evolutions… and lots of hairstyles, too!
Most people don’t know this, but after the births of my two children, I struggled with my weight. I know how it feels to be uncomfortable in your skin. I believe that the right time to upgrade your wardrobe is right now, not “someday later once I’ve lost weight.” I even hired a stylist to come help me with my post-baby body. Because when you upgrade your wardrobe, then you feel more comfortable and confident, which boosts your mood, which leads to healthier choices, which makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight. It’s all connected. It worked for me!
I have a secret project that I haven’t announced publicly yet… but it’s very exciting! I’m designing a new article of clothing that’s never been invented before. I won’t say much yet, except… it’s something that busy parents will love.
